Presentation on Hamilton natives Adèle De Leeuw, a prolific author, and her sister, Cateau De Leeuw, an artist and illustrator. I am a relative of the De Leeuws, and discussed how Adèle’s experiences in this region impacted her life and the groundbreaking nature of how her work emphasized strong women and addressed racial issues.
